Sangiovese, 'Brunello di Montalcino', Villa al Cortile, Piccini, Italy, 2016

A firm silky red with blueberry, dried flower and spice.  Full to medium body, hints of toasted coconut and plenty of fruit.  The nose displays intense aromas of black cherries, liquorice and nutmeg.  This wine displays a rich and complex palate, well balanced with a tannic structure, accentuated by typical sangiovese acidity.  A long and savoury finish follows.
