Nuits St George, J. Drouhin, France, 2016

The 2016 crop was low in quantity but its quality provides a nice surprise.  The mature grapes give deep ruby-coloured wines displaying notes of black fruit mingled with hints of violet & spices.  The palate is round & generous beautifully balanced with structure & softness.  The wines are typical of their terroir, the tannins are ripe & refined.  In oak for around 14-months.
